Went to school (way too long), was a college professor and department chair, and am presently a consultant. Although I left Maryland and never looked back, I think about good times in high school and my Springbrook friends frequently. Good times then include beer and parties (of course!), pick up football games with friends, spring break in Daytona, lots of time in the weight room (I registered for and was given three periods of gym my senior year!), negotiating with various police officers (usually involving beer or a senior skip day), and having friends that would move mountains for you.
Life is still good. Many of my high school interests still keep me giggling. I enjoy powerlifting, fishing, coaching youth sports, and have added bike riding to my too many hobbies. I'm proud of my kids in that they are constantly reaching out to help others. (For example, my daughter raised funds so she can spend her senior spring break helping indigenous folks in Central America with medical and sanitation needs.)
Life is also short. If any of you ever find yourself in the Houston, Texas area, please look me up. I'll buy you a beer. Maybe a lunch. But not if you bring an extended family of 12. And I mean any of you. Even if you are thinking "he doesn't mean me."
In high school, I didn't study. (This goes beyond "as much as I should have.")
A handful of people on Facebook from time to time: Rob Caicedo, Carlos Davilla, Amy Devol, Jason Shapiro, Amy Olendorf.
