Beth Simonson (Handler)

David was a great twin brother and friend. I don't think we even had one argument. It was rare.

He was my childhood companion--kind, warm-hearted, silly, playful, laid back and hot tempered once in a while. We had a great childhood and awesome years in junior high and high school.

In 11th grade, David had a funny bump on his arm that wouldn't go away. It was a very rare cancer. NIH accepted him in a comprehensive program of treatment, research and study. Those awesome years of our youth were now focused on many hospital trips to Bethesda trying various cancer treatment drugs. We had so much hope that there was always a chance.

Then a remission happened. Was it gone? A few months passed then it hit. He declined quickly and then he was gone. As I like to say, David went on his next adventure.

Sharing life in our family was awesome but then to have a great twin brother, that was the gift of my childhood!

I love you David. Beth

Was there anyone who didn't like David? Just the gentlest of souls and a very deep person. For some reason, whenever I hear a Neil Young song playing, I think of David. ♥
